Guwahati has home nursing agencies and attendant services, and it has old age homes. What it does not have is anyone whose job is to manage a parent's care on behalf of the child who lives outside. The companies that do that were built for Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
Meanwhile this city is full of houses where the parents stayed and the children left. We came back ourselves, and we watched what that gap does to both sides of the phone call.
The two of us do every visit. That is not a shortcoming we are apologising for. It is the reason the service is worth buying right now, because nothing is passed down a chain.
We will take on a limited number of families before we hire anyone. When we do hire, we will train slowly, introduce the person to your parents ourselves, and tell you before anything changes.
We do not employ doctors or nurses. We do not run an ambulance or a night-time emergency line. We say so on the website rather than in the small print, and we have written down exactly what we do when something goes wrong.
